Dr Noor Azura Awang received her undergraduate education in physics and went on to do her master's degree in Fiber Bragg Grating and Application at University of Technology Malaysia and a doctorate in Fiber Laser Technology from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. She has been a senior lecturer in the Department of Physics and Chemistry, Faculty Applied Science and Technology of University Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia since 2007. Dr Noor Azura Awang's areas of expertise are Fibre Optics and Lasers (Fiber and Laser Technology). She has over 50 journal publications and conference proceedings in her name, all of which are recognized by the International Citation Index. She has supervised 5 PhD students and 15 MSc students.
Her research contributions in laser technology, optics and optical fibres include the design and fabrication of semiconductor-pumped solid-state lasers, developing techniques to design a fibre laser and developing tuneable solid state lasers.
